Another Favorite Broke College Student Meal: Timeless Tacos

Simple Tacos: Ground turkey or beef, taco shells, seasoning packet, sour cream, shredded cheese, Taco Bell Fire Sauce if you like it hot, and jalapeños are optional too.

Tacos have always been a favorite go-to, regardless of my financial health. There are always leftovers even after eating three, which I normally do each time I make them for dinner.

Any meal that provides leftovers is a win in my book because I can pack a container, stick it in my insulated lunch bag, and head to the campus library until lunchtime.

I will be taking 19 credits this semester on top of writing this blog and building the investment fund. Time management is everything, which means it is absolutely crucial to include meals with minimal prep that provide abundance after the initial labor is applied.

Cooking the ground turkey

I prefer ground turkey over ground beef when making tacos, however, when I am making nachos, I prefer ground beef or black beans for my protein source.

I also hopped on the local link to the grocery store earlier in the evening and picked up some half-off St. Patrick’s Day goodies.

The miniature cupcakes to the left were also half-off, so I picked up a pack and stuck them in the freezer. $2.99 for the cupcakes and $2.74 for the cookies. I’ll have two of the cookies later after dinner.
